On the beach of Praia da Marinha you can see many steep rocks and cliffs in all kinds of colours. But it is also known for its clearest water in all of Portugal.
At the beach, you'll find a big rock with two holes, which makes it look like a bridge. At low tide it will be as good as dry. So you can walk to and through it.
The beach is actually a couple of separate beaches, which you can visit through the water. With low tide you can walk across several beaches. At high tide, you have to swim though the ocean can be rough.
The beach of Praia de Marinha is part part of a famous walking route in the Algarve. Which you can easily walk in half a day. The trail follows the coast along numerous sheer cliffs. I did this hike and think it is very worthwhile. Keep in mind that it can get busy in the weekends and in summer.

In summer, it can get very busy at this place. As well as on the weekends. You can avoid this by getting there very early. The sunrise here is often magical. I went here early morning with coffee and a sandwich. It was a magical moment.
Early morning is also the best time for a quiet morning stroll along the beach. You will be with just a couple of other folks or by yourself. Ook kun je hier vroeg in de ochtend een heerlijke strandwandeling maken.
At night it is usually quiet as well. Though at sunset it might be busy as it is a good place for a magical sunset. And to capture this on camera.
This masterpiece of nature is located at Lagoa. And is best reached on foot. don't forget to walk along the coast to Benagil Cave. This cave has a lovely beach and is famous for its photos. But it is not easy to reach.

You can visit the Algarve all year round. The best time for nature lovers is from March to October. There will be countless flowers in bloom.
Spring starts early here: as early as February. The first orchids already start to bloom in March, when the average temperature is already 15-18 degrees.
If you like hiking or cycling, it is best to go in the spring. In winter there will be regular rain, but the sun can also come out.
