Botswana is world famous for its Okavango river delta, a perfect safari area with a difference. The Okavango river is a life source that runs through the country, with its spring in Angola.

But Botswana, which is located in southern Africa, has much more to offer the adventurous traveller. For example, that famous sandpit: the Kalahari Desert. This semi-desert, situated on the border with South Africa as well as others, is home to the San people, also known as Bushmen or Basarwa. But it’s also home to lions with remarkable black manes, and cute little meerkats.

Botswana borders Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa and people who visit this country often combine it with the highlights of Namibia or Kruger National Park in South Africa. It’s all up to you. But it’s definitely worth spending all your time in Botswana, and combining the well-known attractions with those that are lesser known, and discover those for yourself.
