A large part of the Okavango is protected these days, but another relatively large part is not, or barely so. There is no Okavango National Park.
A part is protected in the Moremi Game Reserve in the northern part of the delta. This is home to many animals, which you might spot during a safari.
Further to the north is Chobe National Park. Thankfully there aren’t many people in the area thanks to the many swamps.
Moremi is rightly known as one of the best places for a safari. Of course the main attractions are the animals, but the landscape is also very impressive. Give yourself several days to immerse yourself in this African adventure.
