The Beaches of Lisbon

Located in Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais

A day at the beach in Lisbon. It is possible. The city seems to have a beach, located at the mouth of the Tagus. And so you have to travel a bit to see the beaches. But you do get something in return. It is best to head west from the city to the Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais.

In the vicinity of the famous Sintra you will find secluded, small beaches with wonderful names such as Praia de Ursa and Praia de Magoito.

Cascais

The starting point can be the town of Cascais, which is easily accessible by train. It takes about half an hour by car. The beaches there are surrounded by rocks and forests.

Note that it can get crowded in the summer. Those who come here in the early morning will see a beautiful part of Portugal. You can also put on your hiking shoes and go for a walk. You quickly leave most of the tourists behind.

And if you have a car, you can drive a little further to find peace and quiet. Because the more you go north, the rougher it gets. This is also an ideal place for hiking, mostly in the shade of the trees.

Along the way you can only come across secluded and remarkably small beaches. Which lie between the rocks with golden sand and clear blue water. A day at the beach is a wonderful change from the city of Lisbon.
