The Algarve has numerous beaches. But which one is the most beautiful beach? This list with ten beaches shows the most popular, and also the lesser-known beaches.

Praia da Marinha

The beach of Praia da Marinha in the Algarve.

Praia da Marinha is according to many the most beautiful beach in the Algarve. It has a unique location, but it is mainly the steep limestone rocks that make it happen. When you arrive you will be overwhelmed by the beauty.

From this beach, you can kayak to the famous Benagil cave. This cave is only accessible by sea and is very beautiful.

Praia de Odeceixe

The stunning view of Praia de Odeceixe.

The west of the Algarve is often forgotten. This is unfair because here you will find various endless beaches between rough rocks. It is also often quieter here. From the hill with the village of Odeceixe you can see the Seixe river slowly flowing into the sea. This makes this beach extra special.

Praia da Bordeira

The wide Praia da Bordeira.

If you like surfing, Praia da Bordeira is the place. This is where surfers and locals gather to enjoy the beach and sea. The beach of Bordeira is located near the town of Carrapateira (Aljezur). This is also located on the rustic west side of the Algarve.

Praia dos Tres Irmãos

One of the most famous places: Praia dos Tres Irmãos.

The name Praia dos Tres Irmãos means the beach of Three Brothers. Most striking are the many tunnels and caves that you will find here. It is a wonderful place to explore and take pictures. The beach is also very beautiful.

Visiting the Algarve

You can visit the Algarve all year round. The best time for nature lovers is from March to October. There are then countless flowers to be found. Spring starts early: the first flowers are already seen inFebruary.

The first orchids already start to bloom in March, when the average temperature is already 15-18 degrees. If you like walking or cycling, it is best to go in the spring, in winter it can regularly rain. But it can also be sunny weather.

The beaches can become very crowded. It's best to arrive early in the morning. The light is often beautiful and good for photos. You can also claim one of the best spots on the beach.
