The smallest restaurant in the world can be found in Italy. Anyone who has booked a table at Solo per due will notice that the interior is traditional. A fireplace, candlesticks and chandeliers complete this 19th century house. A table with chairs, two sofas, that's all.
This restaurant is called 'Solo per due', which means 'only for two'. The name speaks for itself: it's only big enough for two people. No noisy diners, and the wait staff and chef are there just for you. It's a perfect place for a romantic diner with your beloved.
The atmosphere is typically Italian, and the menu has mostly local, fresh produce. For example, home-made olive oil, sheep’s cheese and pasta.
This restaurant, owned by chef Remo di Claudio, is located in Vacone, a small village around 68 kilometres north of Rome.
As you can imagine a meal isn’t cheap, around 200 euro per person, but that’s a small price to pay for something so unique.
