Hiking around Lake Como

Hiking in the surrounding mountains of Lake Como.

Brunate Funicular

This is a very popular excursion. The cable car from Como to Brunate is very worthwhile as the view of Lake Como is great. Brunate is a small village high above the lake. From Brunate you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. You can also take a hike in the mountains. You can buy a ticket for the cable car on the spot.

Isola Comacina

The view from Isola Comacina.

This small island in Lake Como is known for its historic ruins and charming atmosphere. There are several boats per day that you can take to the island. I explored the narrow streets at my leisure, visited the old church and strolled around the island. Lunch a meal in one of the island's restaurants.

You need several days to explore this lake and its surroundings properly. You can spend the night in countless places. Think of small hotels, luxury villas, convenient holiday homes and apartments. Due to the great competition, prices are still not too bad. Be there on time, especially for the holiday periods and weekends.
