Timgad was a Roman colonial city in North Africa. The city in Algeria was built by Emperor Trajan in the year 100, and it’s considered one of the finest existing examples of Roman city planning using a grid.
Timgad is on the northern slopes of the Aures Mountains in Algeria. A wonderful place to wander around and soak up its rich Roman history.
