Hiking the W Circuit in Torres del Paine

The most popular trekking in Torres del Paine

The W Circuit is one of the most beautiful hiking routes in Torres del Paine National Park. This trek is the southern part of the Torres del Paine circuit, and a good alternative for those who find the 100 kilometer long Torres del Paine circuit a bit too much. This hike is only about 76 kilometers and is the most popular trek in Torres del Paine.

Spend the night in cabins (refugio’s)

You will not be required to carry your own camping gear. You can spend the night at the refugios. This is the southern part of the Torres del Paine-circuit, and according to many people the best part.

Most hikers take four or five days to walk from Refugio Laguna Amarga to Refugio Pehoe. From there, you will take the ferry to Refugio Pudeto.

The route is roughly shaped as the letter ‘W’, hence the name. You can walk this course by yourself, or with a group and a guide. It is one of the most popular trails in South America, so you will never be truly alone. During the high season you will need to make reservations at the refugios in advance.
