The Carnival in Rio de Janeiro is world famous. And yes, it is one of the greatest festivals on the planet. Almost everyone is dressed in a strikingly colourful way. Everywhere you hear exciting music, it is not easy not to move. The Carnival in Rio de Janeiro is an experience for all your senses.

Dancing, music and beautiful people. If you dream of carnival, you think of Rio de Janeiro. Mostly in February, the city is filled with people in scarce, but colourful attire, who are dancing the streets.

In the evening, the famous parades commence, ending up in the enormous Sambódromo, where the battle for the title will continue until the next morning. You can join in yourself. 

A lot of bands will be playing around the Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. You can dance and sing along with them for as long as you like, until everybody is exhausted …

When is the carnival in Rio de Janeiro?

Carnival is usually beginning of February, occasionally already at the end of January. On the Saturday and Sunday before Ash Wednesday there are dozens of thrilling parades. Tickets for Sambódromo are not easy to get. Check online and buy in advance.
