Syria has long been popular as a destination for travelers. The reason is the rich past. Several historic places are on the list of World Heritage of UNESCO. The big question is what state the monuments are in at the moment.

Due to the years of civil war, there is little information about the status of many sights in Syria. It is certain that several buildings have been heavily damaged. The question is when tourism to Syria will be possible again.
