Palais Garnier

The biggest opera house in the world

Palais Garnier is one of the most beautiful and also one of the most noticeable buildings in Paris. Its architecture is the signature of Charles Garnier, known for his neo-baroque, eclectic and extravagant style. Hence the name of the building.

Gold, frescoes and marble

The interior of Palais Garnier’s interior is decorated with gold, marble and frescoes. It dates back to 1875 and was designed by Charles Garnier. The colourful ceiling was painted by the famous artist Marc Chagall, back in 1964. Nowadays, the opera is a museum.

They used a drone to capture this unique painting up close. While most of the drones are used outdoors, this one got to go to the opera building. The recordings are used for the film ‘The Chagall ceiling, a 50-year-old scandal’. It gives a great view on the biggest Opera House in the world.
