French Polynesia: it even sounds exotic. This group of islands in Polynesia is often seen as the ultimate tropical travel destination on social media: Idyllic and jealousy-inducing photos will often pop up in people’s Facebook and Instagram feeds.
The pictures are world famous: white sandy beaches, crystal-clear lagoons and distant mountain peaks. This is French Polynesia. It’s perfect for a relaxing beach holiday, though there is plenty to do as well.
Bora Bora is popular for its exciting accommodation in over-water bungalows. In the background, you’ll see the peak of the Mt. Otemanu volcano, which is intriguing even when the weather is bad.
