Edinburgh Castle

Secrets and ghost legends…do you dare?

Edinburgh Castle is located on top of Castle Rock in Scotland. Every day at 1pm, they fire a canon from the castle. This tradition started in 1860 so that the ships at sea could set their maritime clocks for safe navigation.

Edinburgh Castle is made up out of several structures, most of which date back to the 17th century. The castle is still in excellent condition and towers above the city of Edinburgh.

The castle is also famous for its mythical ghost stories. For example, legend goes that there is a ghost that walks atop the castle walls playing a bagpipe, there is a headless drumming ghost, and even a ghost dog.

Thankfully, there are plenty of other events at the castle that are not at all scary. For example the military tattoos, literary readings, storytelling about local heroes such as Rob Roy, and concerts by stars both big and small.
