Skeleton Coast in Namibia got its name from the many shipwrecks that ended up here. Many of them are now in the dunes, having run aground due to the mist and many treacherous rocks along the coast.

Remarkably, some shipwrecks lie deep in the sand dunes. Many ships have been wrecked here in the treacherous mist and the rocks here and there.
