Malta

Archipelago with a long and intriguing history

Malta is much more than sun, sea, and sand. It has historic inner cities, as well as strange temples that are thousands of years old which left scientists puzzled.

The miniature state of Malta is ideally situated in the Mediterranean. It is not made up of just one island, but many islands. These include the islands of Malta, Gozo, Comino, the smaller Manoel Island, the small uninhabited islands of Cominotto, Filfla, Fungus Rock, and the Saint Paul's Islands.

An amazing long history

Anyone who travels to this country will immediately notice that it has a very long history. On the islands of Malta and Gozo, there are strange buildings, which suddenly appear in the landscape. These prehistoric structures are older than Stonehenge and the pyramids in Egypt.

Due to its strategic location, Malta has been inhabited by many nations. Think of the Phoenicians, the Romans, the Vandals, the Goths, the Byzantines, the Muslim Arabs, the Normans, the Johns (also known as the Maltese Order of Knights), and finally the British. There are many ruins of these times that can be found on the various islands. Especially on Gozo, where time seems to have stood still.
