Many people just pass through this metropolis, which is a shame because the capital of Malaysia has so much to offer. You can easily spend a few days in Kuala Lumpur, and explore the many highlights.

Its many sky scrapers, taxis and hip bars make you feel like you’re in New York. Kuala Lumpur is the Big Apple of Malaysia. It’s a mix of innovation and local charm. This city has it all.

Petronas Twin Towers

Kuala Lumpur's Twin Towers are world famous. When it opened in 1998, the Twin Towers were the tallest building in the world. The towers are 452 meters high, without the antenna it is 378 meters. When you visit the city you will regularly see them popping up on the horizon.

When you visit the towers you will automatically see Suria KLCC. This is a popular shopping center in the lowest part of the towers. But you can also visit the towers itself.

The Twin Towers offer a wonderful view of Kuala Lumpur. Get a ticket for a special tour that includes the famous Sky Bridge. You can also visit an observation platform. You might have a wonderful view over Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding area.

Thean Hou temple

The Thean Hou Temple is a major attraction in Kuala Lumpur. This Chinese temple is immense; it has an area of 6760 m3. The temple is quite young, it was completed in 1987. You can visit it both during the day and in the evening. In the evening it is illuminated, which gives an extra dimension.

Street Food in Jalan Latan

Jalan Latan is a district famous for Street Food. You will find numerous food stalls, especially in the evening. Tasty smelling satay stalls predominate the street scene. You can buy all kinds of skewers, like chicken satay, fish balls, lobster, pork skin with honey, surimi and tofu. You'll find many vegetables such as broccoli, for example.

Your satay can be prepared on a burning fire. But this can also be prepared in hot water. Try both, the flavours are quite different. You get satay sauce, sweet and sour sauce or spicy chili sauce. It is a delight.

China Town

According to experts, China Town is just as good as the touristic Jalan Latan. And much cheaper to eat, for example. One of the tasty dishes here is Nasi Lemak. This is the national dish.

You get boiled rice in coconut milk with a spicy chicken leg or lamb curry. You will also see roasted peanuts on your plate, a fried egg, cucumber and traditional chili sauce. It is actually a dish, but can also be used very well for lunch.
