Swim at a wonderful waterfall in Jamaica

Dunn's River Falls is an absolute must when you visit Jamaica. You can climb this waterfall, making it a unique excursion. The waterfall is also beautifully situated in the rainforest.

The most famous waterfall of Jamaica is Dunn’s River Falls.  It is 180 meters long and 55 metres high, and the water flows directly from the river into the sea. It is a remarkable thing to see.

Climbing Dunn’s River Falls

Dunn’s River Falls are located in the temperate rainforest, providing a lush green location for you to have your swim. The waterfall cascades down to the sea, so there are a small lagoons all the way down, you can climb up or down the cascades, or just choose one for a swim.

Along the way, see how the water has ground the rocks. Most of them are conspicuously round and quite smooth too. So pay attention. Especially in places where algae grow, you can easily stumble.

These are the dark spots on the spots. It is best to avoid them. You can also put on special water shoes, but it is relatively easy with bare feet. As long as you move slowly.

Going down

Once you've reached the top you can go down on apath, but of course you can also climb down. Although this is quite difficult, you will notice it automatically. But, it is also lots of fun.

Beat the crowds at Dunn’s River Falls

Make sure you get here early in the morning to get the spot to yourself. Or get here in the late afternoon to soak in the water and listen to the sounds of the forest around you.
