Iran

Hospitable and surprisingly beautiful country

Iran isn’t really a popular travel destination, which is a shame because everyone who does travel here is pleasantly surprised by the culture, but also the natural beauty of this diverse country. And the people, who are proud of their country and curious about travellers.

It’s only been a few years that Iran has become a tourist destination offered by travel companies. Especially tours past the many temples and mosques are popular, but also through its rough landscape. Imagine lots of mountains, long valleys and many cultural treasures on the way.

Lots of World Heritage

Many of these treasures are on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Persepolis, built by the Persians, is one of those, and it’s world famous. The twelve buildings don’t exactly form a city, but what they were used for isn’t quite clear.

Another interesting place is the huge Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan, and so is the Sheikh Safi al-Din Khānegāh and Shrine Ensemble in Ardabil, in the north-west of Iran. It was built in the thirteenth century.

There’s also the bazar of Tabriz, one of the largest and oldest bazars in the Middle East. Wandering around here is a feast for the senses. But Iran has even more to offer.

What’s special is that you won’t see many other tourists, which means everything is still very pure and authentic here, adding an extra dimension to your trip.
