A unique airport where airplanes and traffic cross paths

The airport of Gibraltar is small. There's a road intersecting with the runway... Traffic needs to stop on occasion to let an airplane pass. A very funny sight.
The runway is only 2,000 meters long, so pilots require quite some landing skills to land here. It is ranked the fifth most extreme airport in the world by the History Channel’s TV show “Most Extreme Airports.”
It is quite a funny sight. Just like with a railways crossing, the boom gates close when an airplane needs to cross. Sometimes they taxi to a different gate, sometimes they take off or to land. Once the airplane has passed, the barriers open and traffic can continue as normal.
The British Overseas Territory is located on the southern end of Spain. It has an international airport, but not a regular one.
