Rügen Island

Island with chalk cliffs, old seaside resorts and long beaches

Rügen Island is located in the Baltic Sea in Germany. It’s a perfect destination for hiking and cycling. It even has a national park to explore.

Rügen is the largest island in Germany, famous for its white chalk cliffs and historic seaside downs such as as Sellin with its beautiful old pier. It can be reached in the north-east of the city of Rostock.

Jasmund National Park

This is also the place where the chalk cliffs are, through which the island is known, among other things. Jasmund National Park is a good place for a hike through the woods and along the beaches. Keep in mind that some pieces can collapse. So never walk too close along the steep sandy slopes.

Seebrucke In Sellin

You will also find famous seaside resorts such as Seebrucke In Sellin, with long sandy beaches. And a world famous bathhouse. That is especially in the evening very special to see because of the soft light. You can also have a drink there, for example.
