Neues Museum

Famous museum in Berlin with art from all over the world

The Neues Museum in Berlin is one of the most famous museums when it comes to old artefacts. The most famous is the bust of the Egyptian queen Nefertiti, but its collection of papyrus is also much lauded by scientists.

This museum in Germany was designed and built between 1843 and 1855 by the architect Friedrich August Stüler. He was a student of Karl Friedrich Schinkel, who designed the Altes Museum (Old Museum).

During 1939, the Neues Museum was severely damaged by bombing during the second world war. It wasn’t reopened until 2009, after extensive renovations. That's why the name means New Museum. The Neues Museum is located on the famous Museum Island in Berlin.
