Buckingham Palace

The royal palace of the British royal house

Buckingham Palace in London is the official residence of the British Queen. This palace has more than 600 rooms and was originally a country house for the Duke of Buckingham.

Since 1993, parts of the palace are accessible to the public, but only during the months of August and September. You may not be able to go everywhere, but a glimpse inside the Royal Palace is something extraordinary. You will see several rooms and the exuberant furnishings, with a lot of red and gold colours. Part of the garden is also open to the public.

The beautiful Throne Room

One of the most beautiful rooms is the throne room, where the throne of the Queen can be seen. The thrones of her parents and grandparents are also here. Famous is also the Royal Collection, with paintings by famous masters like Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck, Vermeer and Poussin. Those who close their eyes during a visit can even get an idea of how a Queen’s life should look like.
