Wonderous mountain state in the Himalayas

Bhutan is famous for the natural beauty of the Himalayas. But also because of its rich culture with many traditions, mountain monasteries and much authenticity.

The country is entirely located in the Himalayan mountains. It borders with China (Tibet) in the north and north-west, and is enclosed by India in the south.

Bhutanwas isolated for a long time, a choice made by its government. The effects of this are that its culture is very well-preserved, with lots of traditional garments for all occasions, for example.

And the country has many huge mountains, and legend says the highest is Gangkhar Puensum which is supposedly around 7,570 meter, but it has never been formally measured.

When you travel around this country you’ll be amazed by its culture, which is present in its abundant Buddhist architecture. There are many unique temples here, known as Dzongs, many of which you can visit. One of those is Paro Taktsang, also known as the Tiger’s Nest.
